Are Healthy Living New Year Resolutions Bad For You?

“New year, new you” is a popular phrase, but feeing obliged to make New Year’s resolutions can be bad for you according to some reports. Over seven million people in the UK make a New Year’s resolution, many of which have a negative focus that concentrates on perceived imperfections. If you don’t stick to those resolutions (and a lot of us don’t) then feelings of failure and inadequacy can be triggered, so what started out as a resolution to improve yourself ends up being detrimental to your wellbeing.

Here at Sanctuary Spa Holidays, we want to support you in achieving your New Year’s resolutions to improve your health and wellbeing.  Rather than chastise yourself about supposed shortcomings, you can set realistic targets and achieve them at a Spa retreats or Spa resorts.   That doesn’t have to rely on the many therapies like massage or ayurvedic treatments offered at our resorts.  Simply being active releases endorphins that are proven to be beneficial for your mental wellbeing. You don’t have to be an athlete either as a gentle stroll in the grounds or beaches of any of our spa resorts will do the trick.  Taking advantage of natural ecotherapy and connecting with nature boosts your mood and lifts depression and trying something new will keep your mind stimulated and give you confidence in yourself.

So by all means, set yourself targets and goals with a New Year’s Resolution aimed at healthy living, but don’t focus on problems or insecurities that mean you’ll  probably fail to keep resolutions and end up feeling worse than when you started.  Focus instead on selecting the Spa holiday that will best help you meet all your personal ambitions.  Thermal Spas, Thalassotherapy Spas, Ayurveda Spas offer effective relaxation and treatments as well as beauty and relaxation regimes that will help you make those New Year’s Resolutions come true.
