Visa Requirements
Since 1 Jan 2012, it is no longer possible for foreign nationals (except Singaporean and Maldivian nationals) to get 30 day visas on arrival at the airport in Sri Lanka. Tourists must apply online through the Electronic Travel Authority. All travellers should check full entry requirements prior to travel by visiting the FCO website or by contacting the relevant embassy.

Best time to visit Sri Lanka is during its dry seasons which are between April to November. The monsoon seasons start between May to September in the western and southern parts of Sri Lanka. The northern and the eastern areas are affected between October to January.

No compulsory vaccine needed for travellers coming from Europe, but we strongly advise you to get vaccinated against hepatitis A and B, Typhoid, Polio, Yellow fever, Japanese encephalitis, Rabies, Measles, mumps, rubella and Tetanus- diphtheria, bearing in mind this could differ against other destinations. As health requirements change please consult with your GP or a specialist.
