Location

Shangri-La's Rasa Sayang Resort and Spa is 20 minutes’ drive from George Town, the capital of Penang Island, and 45 minutes from the international airport. Penang is a tropical island off the north west coast of Malaysia, some of the cuisine for which the island is famous and is one of the country’s top destinations for local cuisine. You can find dishes blending influences from all over Malaysia itself as well as China, Indonesia and Sri Lanka. The Shangri La is right next to a local food court and night market, the perfect spot to pick up a local souvenir and try some local dishes. The nearby Pantai Acheh Forest Reserve is ideal for guided jungle treks and George Town is also well worth a visit, with its historic buildings and bustling streetlife.
