Location
Park Hyatt Goa Hotel and Spa is 15 kilometres from Dabolim Airport in south Goa, a 15-minute drive. Goa was ruled by the Portuguese for hundreds of years until 1961, when it joined independent India, and still retains many traces of its colonial past and a unique culture. From a distinct cuisine to historic Portuguese forts and churches, Goa is unlike anywhere else in India, and also boasts some of the country’s best beaches, a tropical climate, and warm, welcoming people. Panjim, the state capital of Goa, is 32 kilometres away from the resort, while the nearest city is Margao, 11 kilometres away. Margao is the commercial hub of Goa, and set along the banks of the River Sal. It is one of Goa’s oldest settlements and is home to many distinctive old Portuguese mansions, Catholic churches and Hindu temples. The closed market and natural springs are also popular attractions. Margao curry is a well-known local dish.
