Spa Programme

CHI, The Spa at Shangri-La draws inspiration from the origins of the Shangri-La legend, a place of personal peace, enchantment and well-being.

Designed to be a discrete, secluded spa, CHI, The Spa allows guests to enjoy the largest yet most private and luxurious of all the spas in Muscat, complete with spacious relaxation areas that include private garden patio and  garden rain shower.  From the serenity and calm of the Spa’s welcoming inner sanctum, guests are welcome to enjoy the experience of the unique CHI Water Oasis which features a vitality hydro pool, a herbal steam room, tundra and tropical showers, an ice fountain and a relaxation area which invites guests to linger in the restorative ambience of CHI.  Guests may also book time in the Rhassul and Hammam to truly unwind and relax.

In traditional Chinese philosophy, "chi" or "Qi" is the universal energy or life force that governs well-being and personal health.  For people to maintain good health and vitality it is believed that "chi" must flow freely within the body and, if blocked, "dis-ease" and illness follow.  Movement is therefore regarded as a key necessity in releasing blockages to chi.

Body massage, stretching, hydrotherapy, exercise, and movement of the mind through relaxation and meditation combine to assist the body in its natural renewal and form the basis of the CHI spa philosophy.
