Shreyas Yoga Retreat

Shreyas is nestled in 25 acres of gardens, paddy fields and coconut groves, and offers first rate yoga and spa facilities with the style and comfort of a luxurious boutique hotel. Its tiled roofs, antique doorways and stone pillars create a serene atmosphere within nature, combined with state-of-the-art facilities. The open-air yoga pavilion will form a central part of a guest’s stay, and there are also several secluded seating areas around the grounds for private meditation as well as a walking track around the gardens. As well as the inclusive yoga and meditation classes guests have used of all recreational facilities, including the infinity-edge pool, spa tub, steam room, gym and home cinema.

Guestrooms

Shreyas features 14 rooms catering for up to 25 guests. One bedroom cottages overlook the pool while en suite tented garden cottages are set within the trees and flowering shrubs, and open onto private courtyards. There is also a three-bedroom cottage within the gardens.

Dining

Shreyas includes all meals, serving wholesome gourmet vegetarian dishes, carefully planned to complement your yoga programme. All are prepared using organically-grown produce from the retreat’s own gardens, and blend Indian, Asian and Mediterranean influences. Guests are encouraged to eat together in the main dining room, although limited room service is available for a surcharge. Dinner is also often served al fresco in the garden.

Location

Shreyas is 35 kilometres to the north west of Bangalore, and nestled in 25 acres of landscaped gardens. With so much on offer many guests may wish to spend their entire time at the retreat, although the transport and guides to Bangalore can be arranged from Shreyas. Bangalore is India’s third largest city and capital of Karnataka state. More than 1,000 years old, there is much to see as well as many green parks and spaces, and the city is also an important centre of Indian classical dance and music. Other sites like Mysore, Halebid, Sravanabelagola, Belur and Srirangapatnam can also be reached from Shreyas. A full day excursion to visit local village temples or to Bangalore for a city tour and shopping trip is included.
