Location
Chiva-Som is 230 kilometres south west of Bangkok in Hua Hin. The area became popular from the 1920s when the Thai Royal Family established their summer home there, and the palace is now one of their principal residences. Chiva-Som is only 10 kilometres from the airport and on a pristine stretch of beach three kilometres from the centre of town. Hua Hin has a popular and lively night market and one of the largest pagodas in the world can be found nearby at Phra Pathom Chedi. You can also visit the Elephant Village and take an elephant back ride through dense tropical forests.
